LS-2003 Manual (Return to LS-2003 Home)

The leak simulation procedures and hardware described in the LS-2003 manual were developed by Ken Wilcox Associates, Inc. for the purpose of providing a standard method for testing pipeline leak detectors at commercial retail fuel stations. It is based on equipment manufactured by KWA, Inc.

It has been our experience that the testing of leak detectors may vary significantly from tester to tester because of inherent limitations in the hardware that can produce unexpected effects on the induced leak rates. This method removes the most serious problems of this nature by providing a standard set of equipment and procedures that are user friendly and technically correct.
