KWA operates the largest and most advanced
test facility in the world for conducting third-party evaluations
of leak detection equipment. Located in Grain Valley, Missouri,
the test facility includes one 20,000 gallon underground storage
tank, (UST), two 13,500 UST's, and more than 400 feet of underground
pipelines. The site is fully instrumented and has capabilities
for heating and cooling product to simulate product deliveries.
The UST's can be manifolded together or individually isolated
depending on the manufacturer's requirements. Product may
be dispensed at variable rates or throughputs (with or without
leaks present) to simulate "real-world" gas-station
operations. Fiberglass and flexible pipelines are present
for line leak detector testing.
Ken Wilcox Associates, Inc. is an independent
third-party testing organization that has provided evaluations
and R&D facilities for manufacturers of leak detection
equipment since 1989. KWA certifications have been used by
manufacturers to meet regulatory requirements in all 50 states
and world-wide.
