Training for Technicians and Regulators (Return
to LS-2003 Home)
The LS-2003 Leak Detector Tester is a precision instrument
that is capable of accurately generating leaks of 3.0 gal/h, 0.2
gal/h and 0.1 gal/h. To achieve the best possible results from the
LS-2003, it is mandatory that this equipment be calibrated and used
properly.
To assure that the best possible results are obtained from the LS-2003,
KWA strongly recommends that users be properly trained. This training
can be obtained either at the KWA Laboratory in Grain Valley, Missouri
(near Kansas City) or at the users site.
Training at the KWA laboratory includes actual use of the equipment
on several of the more popular leak detectors. These leak detectors
are installed on the KWA test pipeline and are fully functional
as they would be at a service station site. Users will be able to
see exactly what to expect when the LS-2003 is used in the field.
The sequence of events that occurs during a test is often complex
with the turbine pumps turning on and off periodically as the test
is conducted. Complete notes describing these events will be provided
at the course.
In addition to hands-on use of the LS 2003, a session on maintenance
of the equipment will also be provided. This will include replacement
of o-rings and cleaning of the flow tubes.
Training can also be conducted at the user site. If this option
is selected, it is highly recommended that one or more lines with
different leak detectors be available for the training. If not,
video examples can be provided for the students.
There is a nominal charge for the training. A certification card
with the testers name, serial number and picture will be provided
after successful completion of the training.
